How would design education in 2050 look like? Beat Karrer and Kristina Pröhl showed the potential of external design workshops inside the education area of the singapore design festival. The showcases of the two Boisbuchet Vitra Design Museum workshops "manufactured nature" and "molded nature" helped to point out the advantages of a - slightly or very - different view onto the design process.

For the German theater festival "Theaterformen" we designed a flying carpet that overspreads the Festival Centre based in the courtyard of the Staatstheater Hannover. The flying carpet will take off on the 10th of June and fly until the 21st. During that period the Festival Centre with it's cafe, bar and stage will host bands, DJ's, artists, performers and last but not least the visitors, wellcome!

Producing plastics from renewable raw materials is nothing new, but in spite of this the overall proportion of biopolymers is still relatively low. Swiss designer Beat Karrer has for some time now been researching new processing methods which are aimed at increasing the prospects for the use of biodegradable plastics on an industrial scale.
